Often combining two or more of the many therapies I am qualified to practice, including;  NLP, Havening Techniques®, EMDR, Rewind Technique, Hypnotherapy, CBT and other psychotherapies. The reason?  I am led by you. I do not believe one size fits all. Your therapeutic journey will be as unique as you are.

Seeking Support

I've found though clients know they have certain challenges they need to resolve to live a fulfilled and happier life, they tend to put off seeking support based on an outdated belief that what is in their way isn't as bad as what they have witnessed others cope with, therefore they should just get on with it!

So reaching out to get help for something that has been normalised feels daunting. After all how explain you can't cope with every day stuff without feeling you are being dramatic, over sensitive or even useless?

 I understand that just contemplating talking about what is getting in your way brings up emotions you would rather avoid. 

It doesn't have to be that way.

​You can experience leading edge therapies such as Havening Techniques® where you don't even need to speak, you simply show up and let me do the rest. And quite often the issue that has been causing your distress is rendered harmless in the first session!

For you this means the emotional connection is disconnected in the part of your brain called the amygdala. This area is responsible for fear and emotional responses meaning after your session you are no longer living a life of mental and/or emotional pain and suffering. Making that life you want and deserve available without the emotional overwhelm of self blame, shame, guilt and feelings of misplaced selfishness.

This gentle hands on process lasts approximately 12-15 minutes with the total session lasting 50 minutes. It sounds simple because on the face of it, it is. Behind the scenes however your brain is generating an electroceutical effect that forever alters the source of your emotional suffering. Your brain now works on the premise you're safe, you can escape, you are no longer bound to the emotional, cognitive and visceral experiences you have been normalising. According to your brain your past issues no longer exist and cannot be retrieved.

Havening is effective on major single trauma events and negative emotions alike.

And once you have learned the skill for yourself you can apply it simply by activating the emotional component of the distressing event you have experienced. Is an emotional response that is associated with fear. It can create excessive worry about past and future imaginary events. It disturbs concentration and can bombard you with intrusive thoughts creating an inner turmoil. All of this can and does interfere with daily living blocking your ability to deal with general day to day experiences.

Self-Esteem:

What you believe about yourself will effect every aspect of your life!

Low self esteem can often lead to self doubt, poor decision making, a lack of belief in your abilities leading to a lack of confidence and many missed opportunities. Not only this, low self esteem can lead to a lack of self care and the continuous seeking of validation from others often resulting in excessive people pleasing, a lack of personal boundaries, and engaging in unhealthy pursuits to mask your feelings such as alcohol abuse and other self limiting pastimes that hinder your personal growth and development.

Once this cycle begins your resilience to meet daily challenges and normal life setbacks can become weakened, This often leaves you feeling hopeless and fearing further failure which, in turn, stops you trying anything new and results in you giving up.

Believing in yourself creates the opposite and as your self esteem rises you become more resilient, more able to protect yourself from mental health symptoms such and depression and anxiety and you become more empowered setting personal boundaries and putting yourself out there for those opportunities that previously passed you by! 

Building your self esteem is fundamental to a successful life and believe it or not is do-able!

Swapping confusion for clarity, people pleasing for personal power and growth truly does create a safe and secure base from which you can thrive!

Depression:

Feeling persistently empty, sad, anxious, irritable, and worthless are some of the symptoms of depression. 

It is a debilitating state to exist within leaving you often without any interest in life and robbing you of all joy.

There are many different therapies that help with depression but deciphering the cause can be a struggle in itself as it can be a combination of many things or something so simple it is overlooked. Often depression itself goes overlooked as you normalise its effects. Anger:

Anger is one of the most vilified yet productive emotions you can have and also one of the healthiest when understood correctly.

Not being allowed to express anger and being socialised in to believing we are bad for feeling and showing anger leads us to swallowing it and internalising its damaging effects. This leads to personal illness and depression not to mention the sociological impact it has on our immediate and wider environments. Our children suffer, our parents suffer and we suffer all because we have been taught NOT to feel and then express anger safely. Being taught anger is bad, is bad in itself!

Anger is a useful emotion. It can be productive as it's a natural response to threat. It is a self preservation response designed to keep us safe. 

We are afraid of anger as it poses a threat to us. It can be unpredictable. We perceive this anger as dangerous to us its expressed as aggression which is actually what we are scared of. Aggression leads to a lack of empathy and compassion. All anger is not like this. Anger as an emotion in and of itself is a necessary emotion. It is a motivator and can lead to a person becoming focused on the task at hand. The task may be to protect ourselves or others. It may be to gather strength to perform a rescue or survive an event or to ward off an external threat.

Stress:

Stress leads to overwhelm and affects your brain functioning.

If you have ever felt under pressure you have felt stress!

Stress is a natural reaction to your mind-body connection.

Believe it or not in small doses it is a good thing!

Stress is designed to get you going, keep you moving, alive, stimulated for expansion. But, and it's a big but, when you are under pressure over long periods of time you are doing yourself untold harm because you are in survival mode and this is not only debilitating it is dangerous! Too much too long leads to mental ill-being and chronic disease. It keeps you in survival mode and you cannot not jump from surviving to thriving, you need to send easy calming messages between your brain and body to change the trajectory you are on.

Living a life with fatigue, insomnia, high blood pressure, weight gain, memory loss and a fog filled mind along with feeling anxious, depressed, a loss of libido and depending on drugs, alcohol and fast food to get you through is no life at all. This is survival mode living!
